IWC Schaffhausen Official Timekeeper Florian Kalotay

IWC Schaffhausen, the International Watch Company has beenannounced today as the Official Timekeeper for the 2011-12 edition ofthe Volvo Ocean Race.
IWC will present the 24-hour record prize after each of the ninelegs, which will be awarded during the prize-giving ceremony at eachHost Port. The world's leading brand in luxury watches will also have aspecial prize for the fastest team over 24-hours. At the end of therace in Galway in July 2012, IWC will reward the fastest crewmemberswith a special prize.

Inlast edition of the race, Ericsson 4 the overall winner of the 2008-09edition sailed an impressive 596.6 nautical miles in one day, breakingthe 24-hour world monohull record. There is every chance that thisachievement will be surpassed in the forthcoming race and IWC will bepresent to attest and recognize this amazing accomplishment |
